Command Square 9
Info:Command Square 9 comprises a grid 100 miles by 100 miles.
City 9's northwestern quadrant sits in the southeastern part of the Square.
The Square is divided into Sectors utilizing the military phonetic alphabet. Thus A-Z from west to east is the first coordinate, and A-Z north to south is the second coordinate.
This means a total of 676 Sectors.
Likewise each Sector is divided by numbers 1-10 west to east and 1-10 north to south to further pinpoint locations.
Posts are identified by saying Post, then its Sector coordinate pair, then its designated post number. For example, Command and Control is Post Quebec Fox 1.
A pinpoint grid location is only to be transmitted in person.
Sector leaders must maintain accurate lists of their post designations and be sure they send current ones on to Command and Control.
Command Structure:
Command and Control is charged with maintaining links between all Sector posts.
Sector Leaders are charged with setting up and maintaining individual posts.
Post Leaders are responsible for gathering intelligence, directing patrols and engaging the enemy where appropriate.
At the individual post level, Post Leaders can determine their own rank structure and squad elements. Some opt for a traditional military fire team structure, others resort to ad-hoc measures.
The Resistance is not a military organization. However, volunteering to service a post or become a Leader is seen as a commitment to following orders from the "higher" links. Failure to do so may result in repercussions from Command and Control.
It is advised that should a person no longer desire their position that they willingly abdicate authority to another volunteer.
Director of Assault Operations:
While most of the personnel in The Resistance are dedicated to acting as a bulwark against the Combine while ways are found to strike back, there are those whose job it is to find those ways.
Command Square 9's primary Assault Director is Commander Alexander Burnham.
He is head of a unit designated Cell 10, otherwise known as the Black Angels.
Cell 10's members are drawn from a wide array of Resistance members and given specialized training and weaponry. They study Combine techniques and work exclusively to prepare for missions that strike back at the invading menace.
Post Leaders are encouraged to submit names of particularly competent members to be considered for evaluation.
